Dealing With Depression

If you know someone with depression please go here:

Depression. If that word stirred memories, this is for you. I have some things to tell you.
If you are dealing with depression, it's not your fault. It's your brain. It's not something to be ashamed of. And there is hope. Even if you don't believe it, there are things you can do.
If you have depression please get help. The longer you let it continue without help, the more damaged you become. Your brain is literally damaged by it. Also, the longer you let it go on, the more likely it is that a medicine won't help. Don't try to wait it out. You can't do it.

Find an outlet. Write down exactly what your feeling, focus on describing it the best way you can. Choose something you enjoy doing and that lets you escape.

There is a time when you have been depressed for so long that it feels like that is what you've become. It's hard to imagine like without pain. You wonder what will be left if you let go of the pain. When pain becomes who you are, the only thing you know, I need to tell you something. It's okay to be okay. There is a beautiful soul inside that people want to see. They've lost you to depression. It's okay to come back. You won't be nothing. There's more to life

If people try to make you be happy, and you can't, don't beat yourself up. Try to explain to someone you trust and who will listen. You can't change the chemicals in your brain. Sometimes you CAN'T be who everyone thinks you should be. Their advice is impossible to take sometimes. Forgive yourself and get help.
