Mental Illness: It's Real

A lot of people think that people with metal illnesses are faking it. That they AREN'T real. They think depression is just sadness.
Mental illnesses ARE real. Please do not think that just because you can't understand what's going on in someone else's head, it's not happening. The brain can malfunction. That is not being faked.  They can't just "snap out of it". Untreated mental illness can cause brain damage. It's like if you get get physically sick and someone says "Well, you should have washed you hands more! You'll have to live with it because it's your fault someone sneezed all over the door handles.
Around this time of year the affects can worsen. Please be aware. Mental illness is as real a physical.

  1. I agree, mental illness is definitely a real thing. I have OCD and while it isn't too terribly bad, it's annoying how people act like I can just snap out of it or act like I'm a little kid. Thanks for the post :)
